Overview

We are looking for a CNC Production Operative to join our team and work Continental Nights, helping us manufacture precision aerospace components from aluminium and titanium. You will operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines, prepare and load materials, and follow engineering drawings to meet exact specifications. You will monitor production, make adjustments when needed and inspect finished components using specialist measuring equipment.

Responsibilities and duties

Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines
Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function
Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings, etc
Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result
Inspect and measure finished products using specific measuring equipment and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
Perform preventative maintenance checks on the machine
Finish parts, keeping within quality requirements, using hand tools to sand/smooth part edges.
Complete paperwork such as process sheets, NCRS, and job cards
Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria

Criteria

Desirable criteria (but not essential):

GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in Maths
Previous experience in a manufacturing background
No experience in CNC Machines required, as a full training program is provided, but it is desirable

HOURS OF WORK

(46) – Nights – 2-week schedule

Week 1 – Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (19.00- 07.00) Total 54.50 hours

Week 2 – Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (19.00 – 07.00) Total 34.50 hours
